Agent technologies more and more play a central role not only in the Artificial Intelligence filed, but also within more traditional areas of Informatics such as Software engineering and Programming languages. There, the notion of agent is understood as a natural estension to the notion of object.The relevance of such techniques is today proven also in the industrial context by the ever-growing interest for their use to build systems and tools within many different application scenarios.
The main goal of the WOA (Workshop "From Object to Agents") workshop series is to build up an open discussion forum where researchers and practitioners interested in object- and agent-based models, technologies and methodologies can meet and share their knowledge and experiences.
